The Chevron ENGINE IT department contains platform teams who are members of the four petrotechnical digital platforms including Surface, Subsurface, Wells (Drilling), and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE). These teams operate in a matrix environment with priorities determined by global Product Owners and Product Managers.
About the position:
The ENGINE Cloud Engineer Lead - Digital Identity Architecture is accountable for delivery of the technical architecture for Chevron's Cloud Digital Identity services and support. The role will promote and adopt best practices, understand and lead overall architectural alignment between platform teams in the ENGINE and other global locations, and drive for consistency and scalability. This position partners closely with Digital Platforms� Technical Managers, Product Owners / Product Managers, Chevron IT Engineering and managed service partners to ensure that the architecture is aligned to leading performance outcomes, and enables delivery of secure, reliable, and efficient identity capabilities. This role is key in establishing a high performing organization responsible for digital delivery and support in the ENGINE for the enterprise. The role is also responsible for utilizing the right internal networks and relationships to deliver stakeholder-aligned architecture.
The role is also responsible to promote best practice and common standards and technology usage across Chevron; support the Digital Identity Product Manager in managing the overall performance of Digital Identity by defining and delivering the architecture for necessary epics; represent Digital Identity in various leadership forums and continually benchmark Digital Identity performance against industry standards and trends; support consistency & alignment in practice, process, and toolset usage across Digital Identity capabilities. This role is responsible for designing and delivering innovative and scalable solutions for Digital Identity capabilities to Chevron. This includes defining the technical architecture, collaborating on development and integration, and ensuring alignment with the product vision, value proposition, roadmap, and lifecycle. This role also involves collaborating with customers, product managers, engineers and other stakeholders to understand their needs and pain points, and to provide them with effective and secure Digital Identity solutions.
Key responsibilities:
Lead the design and development of Digital Identity solutions that meet customer requirements and adhere to relevant standards and best practices
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the cloud engineering team, ensuring high-quality delivery and adherence to agile principles
Work closely with the product manager to refine and prioritize the product backlog, scope and test the minimum viable product (MVP), support deployment, and engage in cross-functional and cross-platform collaboration
Communicate the technical vision and strategy for the Digital Identity program, and ensure alignment with the product vision and roadmap
Engage with customers and stakeholders to gather feedback, validate assumptions, and demonstrate the value of the Digital Identity solutions
Support the managed service provider to optimize IAM operations and enhance organizational efficiency
Partner with the Product Manager to help shape the skills and competencies needed to deliver Digital Identity product capabilities
Foster collaborative relationships with strategic partners and vendors
Required qualifications:
Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a comparable field
7+ years of relevant work experience in Digital Identity area
3+ years of relevant work experience with Microsoft Entra and Sailpoint IdentityNow
Strong communication skills. Ability to be well-organized, clear and concise in conversations and written communications
Self-driven, can work with minimal supervision
Ability to prioritize tasks and quickly adjust in a rapidly changing environment
Team player who exhibits effective interpersonal skills with a collaborative style
English language (Advanced)
