First Databank (FDB) is currently seeking a Cloud Operations Engineer. This role is pivotal in delivering high-quality products to the healthcare sector by ensuring the stability and performance of our production environments through collaborative cross-team engagement.
Position will be based out of the Indianapolis, IN or Raleigh, NC office.
Responsibilities:
+ Oversee the performance and security of web applications, focusing on Azure and AWS
+ Engage with architecture, development, security, networking, and customer success teams to ensure production stability and refine operational processes
+ Coordinate software deployments, system updates, and perform cloud administration
+ Facilitate configuration and change management within production environments
+ Rapidly evaluate, respond to, and troubleshoot technical issues, escalating as needed
+ Utilize Python, Bash, and PowerShell for automation tasks
+ Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including runbooks and SOPs.
+ Enhance the team’s responsiveness and communication across departments
+ Contribute to continuous process improvement aligned with cost optimization strategies
Required Skills:
+ Strong communication and presentation skills
+ Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
+ Knowledge of best practices and requirements for security and compliance
+ Ability to read, write, and maintain infrastructure as code
+ Desire and ability to quickly learn new skills and tools
+ Experience with the AWS and Azure cloud platform
+ Strong understanding of networking best practices
+ Scripting languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell
+ Understanding of Linux and Windows Operating Systems
+ Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
+ Bachelor’s degree preferred
+ At least one year of experience in security, operations, or information technology
Required Experience:
+ Resolve network and software configuration errors
+ Enjoy working with new technologies
+ Identify security gaps and are familiar with HITRUST, ITIL, and HIPAA
+ Are actively working in AWS or Azure and are certified at the associate level or higher
+ Benefit from thorough reviews of written instructions and see acrostics
+ Leverage AWS and Azure for personal projects
+ Enjoy outlining automated solutions to hypothetical and real problems

In accordance with applicable law, Hearst is required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role if hired in Raleigh, NC. The reasonable estimate, if hired in Raleigh, is $97,000.00 – $125,000.00. Please note this information is specific to those hired in location. If this role is open to candidates outside of location, the salary range would be aligned to that specific location. A final decision on the successful candidate’s starting salary will be based on a number of permissible, non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to skills and experience, training, certifications, and education.
