Cloud Platform Co-Op will assist in solving technical challenges & make an impact on the overall
product we build. This coop will help develop solutions to address our customer’s needs. The
work you will perform during the course of the internship will help improve your professional
skills, cloud knowledge, programming skills, and technical writing.
DEKA offers Co-Ops for full time students* (must be at least 18 years of age). This position is for a 6+ month rotation for the Fall semester starting in June/July 2025.
How will you contribute to the team as a Cloud Platform Co-Op?Work with other Cloud Engineers on services that are a part of the cloud platformResearch, Design, Develop and Implement solutions to problems in the cloud platform domainHelp develop and implement tests and test strategies for implemented solutionsAssist with documentation for relevant parts of the platformParticipate in maintenance activitiesParticipate agile ceremonies (Standup, Retrospective, etc)To be successful in this role as a Cloud Platform Co-Op, you will need the following skills and experience:Must be an undergraduate computer engineering major (or similar major)Experience in any modern programming language (we use Go, Python, and Java, but solid foundations in programing is what is important)Must show some experience with Cloud Services/ backend experience through prior internships or school/ personal projectsBasic knowledge and experience with LinuxTeam-based development experienceMust be detail orientated and have strong verbal and written communicationThe following experience is preferred for Cloud Platform Co-Op's:Linux Scripting (bash/sh)Experience with containers (Docker)Exposure to Cloud providers and commonly used products (AWS: EC2, SQS, SNS, Cognito, etc
or other provider equivalents)Exposure to Cloud environments and use of cloud tools and technologies (Kubernetes,
Terraform, etc)
