Who we are looking for

Charles River Development is looking for an experienced Cloud Native Platform Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for automating and streamlining our operations and processes, building and maintaining tools for deployment, monitoring, and operations as well as troubleshooting and resolving issues in our development, test, and production environments. Our ideal candidate is proficient with Kubernetes, container orchestration, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms. They should also be familiar with the software development lifecycle and have a deep understanding of modern DevOps tools and practices.

The team you will be joining is a part of Charles River Development (or CRD), that became a part of State Street in 2018. CRD helps create enterprise investment management software solutions for large institutions in the areas of institutional investment, wealth management and hedge funds. Together we have created first open front-to-back platform - State Street Alpha, that was launched in 2019.

What you will be responsible for

As a Cloud Platform Engineer, you will:

Design, build and maintain the Kubernetes platform for container orchestrationWork closely with development teams to architect and implement applications in a scalable and resilient mannerEnsure the reliability, scalability, and security of the platform and applicationsPerform day-to-day operational tasks such as upgrades and patching of Kubernetes platformAutomate operational tasks using scripting languages such as Python, Bash or ShellDevelop and implement CI/CD pipelines for application deployment on KubernetesMonitor the health of the platform and applications using tools like Prometheus, Grafana or ELK stackAssist with capacity planning and load testing of the platform and applicationsDevelop and enforce best practices for building container-based applicationsTroubleshoot issues within the platform and work with development teams to resolve application issuesStay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in container orchestration and cloud-native development

Education & Preferred Qualifications

Proven work experience as a Kubernetes Platform Engineer or similar role in DevOpsDeep knowledge of Kubernetes and DockerExperience with Azure cloud platformExperience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like TerraformFamiliarity with CI/CD tools like Argocd , jenkins etcExperience with monitoring tools like Prometheus , Grafana , ELK stack etcStrong scripting skills (Python, Bash, etc.)Ability to troubleshoot complex networking issuesBS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field

Additional requirements

Work experience in multiple public clouds preferred
