Cloud Security and Governance Lead
About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 12 The Team: You will be part of a world class Product Services & Engineering team architecting various solutions for business requirements within different product offerings of S&P Dow Jones, used by tens of thousands of users globally. The team is responsible for ensuring cloud solutions that deliver Greater Reliability & Resilience, High Performance, High Availability and Scalability. The Impact: You will utilize your technical knowledge and analytical skills in architecting and optimizing cloud infrastructure, standardizing technology stack for cloud & data centers, implementing cloud service catalog and service governance solutions, and driving implementation of our cloud first strategy and cloud adoption in partnership with development & business stakeholders. The Cloud Security Lead is a key role in an organization’s IT team, responsible for securing the organization’s cloud-based systems and data. This role involves developing and implementing cloud security strategies, managing cloud access, and overseeing the security of cloud applications, data, and services. Responsibilities: Oversee the development and implementation of cloud security policies and procedures to ensure data integrity, security, and privacy. Create comprehensive cloud security policies that align with the organization’s goals and regulatory requirements. This includes defining and implementing security controls, standards, and procedures to ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of information assets in the cloud. Creating and maintaining a system for measuring and tracking risks associated with the organization's infrastructure. Reporting and providing regular reports to senior management detailing these metrics. Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. This could include checking firewall configurations, access controls, or data encryption practices. Overseeing the procedures for acquiring and renewing a range of validations and certifications held by the team, in addition to performing routine system access audits to confirm that only approved personnel have access to confidential systems. Regularly monitor all infrastructure and cloud services to ensure they are compliant with organizational and regulatory standards. Provide guidance and training to team members and stakeholders on cloud security best practices. Regularly generate and review reports detailing the efficiency of patching processes for the organization's operating systems, networks, and firewalls. This involves keeping the run book up-to-date and ensuring that all remediation processes are effective and compliant with the organization's standards. Generate reports detailing the organization's compliance with CIS standards and will work towards improving these levels. Manage all disaster recovery and backup processes for the organization's infrastructure, ensuring that all systems can be quickly restored in the event of a disaster. This involves regularly validating database backups to ensure they are completed within the defined timelines and that all data can be successfully restored if necessary. Manage the process of recovering from digital security breaches, which includes reinstating systems, probing into the incidents, and instituting strategies to avert future occurrences. Collaborate with IT and business teams to ensure cloud security standards are integrated into all cloud services and solutions. Regularly monitor the security of cloud resources using security information and event management (SIEM) tools, and respond to security incidents in a timely manner. This includes conducting forensic analysis and incident response, and coordinating with other teams to resolve security incidents. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering is required, or in lieu, a demonstrated equivalence in work experience AWS Certification and RedHat Linux Certification preferred 12+ years of experience with Cloud or Infrastructure Engineering Implement and maintain AWS security policies and best practices Experience with cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks (e.g., CIS benchmarks, NIST, Cyber security) Experience working with Cloud Security scanning tools like Secure State, WIZ cloud Familiarity with industry standards and regulations such as ISO 27001, GDPR, etc. Run and maintain OS, Network, Firewall patching efficiency reports Review privileged access (CyberArk) controls Manage Infrastructure Cyber Incident Recovery and maintain documentation Liaison with BISO/CISO teams Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure Strong communication and leadership skills. Able to work in a diverse team Preferred Qualifications: Candidates should have a minimum of 12+ years industry experience in cloud and Infrastructure. Certifications like Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), or AWS Certified Security - Specialty can be beneficial. Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.) and their security features. Several years of experience in IT security, preferably in a cloud computing environment. This should include experience with cloud security frameworks, risk assessment, incident response, and security operations. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations such as ISO 27001, GDPR, etc. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. Strong communication and leadership skills.
