What you’ll do

 

We are looking for experienced JAVA cloud developers to work on innovative global services to observe, understand, and safeguard the availability of the SAP Business Technology Platform and all the solutions built on top.

Our development team is responsible for the so-called Availability Service which is part of BTP (Business Technology Platform) – a core element in SAP long-term strategy. We develop and operate means to constantly monitor the availability of all kinds of services across SAP, to integrate, aggregate, and enhance observations towards higher-level insights, and to inform relevant stakeholders about issues and historic evolutions.

As a Developer and member of our availability service team, you will develop and operate services that follow cloud-native paradigms. You will get exposure to the newest technologies, get direct touchpoints to customer needs, and work collaboratively in a strong team, but also get ways to co-shape the future of our solutions.

 

You will:

develop robust, secure, and maintainable software take care of proper testing, code reviews, continuous integration, and delivery ensure built-in monitoring and automated operations along DevOps principles

 

What you bring

 

What is essential for the role?

In the first place? An open mind! A good bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science or a related technical discipline Experience in at least one object-oriented programming language (preferably Java/C++/C#) Experience with cloud environments (e.g. Cloud Foundry) and programming models respecting distributed and asynchronous execution, scalability, resilience, and availability needs Experience with state-of-the-art software engineering frameworks and methodologies, e.g. Spring, Spring Boot, test-driven development, continuous integration, Git, Concourse, Jenkins Fluency in English

 

Meet your team

 

Our development team has its base location in Karlsruhe, Germany. We strongly collaborate with an SRE team in Budapest, Hungary. As part of your work, you will closely collaborate with both of them.
