Lead organization’s cloud strategy and implementation. In this highly visible, critical, and strategic role develop and execute a comprehensive cloud computing strategy. Oversee the migration to cloud platforms, optimize usage, ensure cost-efficiency, and align cloud initiatives with overall business goals.

This is a hybrid position which will require the candidate to report and work from the office three days a week. Therefore, interested candidates should be within a 50-minute radius from Temple, TX.

Essential Job Functions:

Define the company's cloud vision and roadmap, including target cloud platforms, migration plans, and cost optimization strategies Ensure the cloud environment aligns with long-term business goals and IT objectives.Assess current IT infrastructure and identifying potential cloud migration opportunities. Analyze market trends and emerging cloud technologies to inform strategy Lead the design and implementation of cloud architectures across various cloud providers Oversee cloud migrations and ensuring smooth transition of workloads Establish best practices and governance frameworks for cloud platform management, including security, compliance, monitoring, and disaster recovery.Manage and optimize the cloud platform to ensure high availability, security, performance, and cost efficiency.Drive continuous improvement and optimization initiatives across cloud services and resources.Establish cloud governance policies and procedures to ensure security and compliance with regulations Define data security standards and access controls within cloud environments Communicate cloud strategy to senior leadership and key stakeholders Collaborate with business units to identify cloud needs and align with business objectives Educate teams on cloud adoption and best practices Work closely with engineering, security, data, and other technical teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud platforms with other IT systems and applications.Ensure that platforms support DevOps processes, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and microservices.Manage relationships with cloud service providers (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure) and third-party vendors.Negotiate contracts, manage SLAs, and ensure platform performance meets agreed-upon standards.Oversee the financial management of cloud platforms, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization.Implement strategies to reduce cloud spend while maintaining performance and reliability.Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and industry trends.Provide thought leadership on new tools, practices, and capabilities that could enhance the platform’s capabilities and contribute to business success.Lead, mentor, and manage a team of cloud engineers, architects, and platform specialists.Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Skills Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field. Advanced certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure certifications) or a Master’s degree is highly desirable.Fifteen years or more of experience in IT, with at least ten years in a leadership role focusing on cloud platform management or infrastructure.Deep understanding of cloud technologies, transformation methodologies, and the ability to drive organizational change at scale. Proven experience designing, deploying, and managing large-scale cloud platforms.Experience with multiple major cloud service providers (GCP, AWS and Microsoft Azure Cloud Platform).Strong background in cloud architecture, cloud computing platforms, infrastructure management, cloud-native applications, cloud performance optimization, microservices, containerization (e.g., Kubernetes), and DevOps practices.Experience working in an Agile environment and managing cross-functional teams.Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to manage and mentor diverse teams.Expertise in cloud security best practices, risk management, and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.A strategic mindset with the ability to align cloud technology with business needs and objectives.Passionate about cloud innovation, cloud adoption, multi-cloud strategy, and governance frameworks.
