The ORAN and vRAN Center of Expertise, within MN Services GSD, is seeking Solutions Architects (multiple positions) to support the solution design activities for customer trials, PoCs, and projects, globally. The ORAN/vRAN Solutions Architect is a highly skilled professional who performs end-to- end (E2E) High Level Architecture of complex multi-product solutions from pre-sales phase through deployment phase and hand-off to maintenance. The Solutions Architect acts as a trusted advisor partnering with customers on their business needs. They understand and capture the critical inputs of stakeholders and translate them into effective requirements and solutions. They specify and design effective end-to-end solutions including customer-specific adaptations by using the Nokia portfolio of products, systems and/or services as well as third-party products where required. This includes the application of solution architecture standards, processes, and principles to create and maintain a solution's (technical) integrity over time.
Proven experience in customer requirements analysis, solution architecture, and solution designExperience in designing solutions using Nokia products (CloudRAN/O-RAN/SRAN)Strong understanding of 4G and 5G architectures, especially on RANStrong knowledge of IP routing; SDN skills are desirableStrong knowledge of Openstack architecture, Docker containers and KubernetesPublic Cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) Certifications are desirableSelf-starter, ready to take end-to-end ownership of all design activities and work with minimal supervisionExcellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must for this role.Python or other automation / scripting knowledge desirableUnderstanding of IPSEC requirements required to deliver Transport designHands-on experience in a working in lab environment and basic troubleshooting skills is mandatory.Design and architect customized ORAN and vRAN solutions during both presales and delivery phases Act as Trusted Technical Advisor for customer and internal stakeholders (PMs, Account/Sales teams) Work closely with customers to understand their business needs and translate these into technical requirements Prepare High Level Designs (HLD) covering all aspects of the solution, ensuring that all components of the solution are stitched together in a holistic manner; identify every external touchpoint of the Nokia solution, prepare an associated multivendor integration matrix, and use this to manage/de-risk all design activities Work closely with the NPO engineers during the development of the respective LLDs (help ensure that LLD is tightly coupled to HLD) Engage with customers and third-party suppliers for detailed design discussions, and attempt to influence overall design as much as possible towards Nokia’s preferred options Work proactively to identify potential risks in the end-to-end solution, including those components provided by the customer and/or third-parties (defensive driving) Support presales activities by providing estimations for design-related tasks and solution design collateral for RFI/RFP/RFQ submissions, and act as a technical guide to sales teams for customer discussions Mentor the deployment teams in implementing the designed solution Support in resolving complex issues if/when services team requires deep technical expertise during the deployment phase Support Project Managers in reviewing project schedule, issues, risks; articulate technical risks and provide tradeoffs and mitigation plans Constantly seek renewal of knowledge and self-training for newer telecom and cloud technologies. Prepare CIQ for the solution including Transport as well as Radio parameters. Support local team towards Transport network design for routing Cloud RAN/ORAN solutions. Should be proficient in BGP and OSPF protocols. Understanding of Workflow based automation is desirable. Hands-on experience in a working in lab environment and basic troubleshooting skills is mandatory. Support region team towards cloud migration and mobility Understanding of RIC and SMO architecture is desirable Understanding of roles and responsibilities to deliver System Integration (SI) & Prime Integration (PI) functions (specifically RACI, SoR, Cost estimates and modelling etc)
