The purpose of this position is to oversee and enhance the dining experience for members and member-guests by leading service staff, maintaining operational efficiency, and ensuring the highest standards of hospitality. The Clubhouse Floor Supervisor is responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere, training and guiding staff, monitoring service quality, and ensuring adherence to established procedures. This role is vital in promoting a "Member/Guest Comes First" philosophy, addressing concerns promptly, and supporting the overall success of food and beverage operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Member and Member-Guest Interaction: Provide immediate and warm attention to members and member-guests upon arrival and seating, ensuring a welcoming and positive first impression. Menu and Beverage Expertise: Guide the team in describing daily specials, answering menu questions, and offering thoughtful suggestions tailored to members’ and member-guests’ preferences. Ensure staff maintains proficiency in wine, liquor, and beer knowledge to provide expert recommendations and pairings. Service Oversight: Supervise the accurate taking of food and beverage orders, timely delivery, and adherence to service standards. Ensure staff follows proper tray service techniques for food and beverage delivery. Guest Satisfaction: Monitor member and member-guest satisfaction during their dining experience, follow up as needed, and address concerns promptly to ensure expectations are met or exceeded. Preparation and Organization: Lead pre-shift meetings, menu tastings, and staff preparation to ensure readiness and consistency in service. Ensure side work and workstation organization are completed efficiently by all team members. Point of Sale Oversight: Oversee the handling of credit card transactions, member charges, and accurate use of the Point of Sale (POS) system. Provide training for staff as needed. Training and Development: Assist in onboarding and training new associates, providing guidance on club service standards and operational expectations. Standards Enforcement: Ensure all team members adhere to established systems and standards for guest interactions, food delivery, and overall service techniques. Promote consistency and professionalism in every service interaction. Safety and Compliance: Enforce safe work practices and maintain a secure working environment for all team members. Report any safety concerns or incidents to management promptly. Team Leadership: Lead and motivate the service team during shifts, providing support and direction to ensure seamless operations and a “Member/Guest Comes First” approach. Dependability: Exhibit regular and reliable attendance while maintaining a professional demeanor. Ensure all team members understand and adhere to attendance policies. Adaptability: Perform additional duties as assigned to support the success of the clubhouse and food and beverage operations.Qualifications:
Previous supervisory or leadership experience in food and beverage operations is preferred. Strong knowledge of food and beverage service, including menu and wine pairing expertise. Exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and cash-handling procedures. A commitment to maintaining high standards and delivering an outstanding member experience. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
