Job Title: Medical Assistant - Newport News, Virginia

Job Description

Perform patient intake to include medical history with accurate documentation in the electronic health record. Patient triage to include vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, pulse, respirations, temperature, height and weight). Perform phlebotomy and ancillary clinical kit testing and specimen collection. Maintain temperature logs, QA processes, OSHA policies. Ensure accurate performance of EKGs. Assist physician with gynecologic, surgical, and wound procedures/exams. Complete pharmaceutical prior authorizations. Conduct phone triage, including communication with pharmacies for patient medication refills. Perform Medicare Annual Wellness Visits. Set up, clean, and stock exam rooms. Input patient lab/radiology orders electronically. Other duties as assigned.

This is a fully on-site position in Newport News, Virginia.

Work Environment

Shift: 7:45 AM - 5:00 PM with a 30-minute lunch break. Patient Volume: 70-85 patients per day across 3 providers.
