Are you ready to make your mark?  If you’re a CMM Operator, we have an exciting opportunity for you.  The CMM Operator is responsible for operation, inspection and programming of the CMM machine, the analysis and interpretation of blueprints, manuals and other materials to determine specifications, to inspect and test procedures, and to communicate technical information to others, in an industrial setting.

What you will be doing… 

Operate CMM machine and maintain CMM work instructions for the set-up and inspection of partsPerform advanced programing and operation of specialized inspection equipment, (e.g., Hexagon CMMs, Mahr profilometer, Mahr form tester, Starrett vision system), discusses inspection results with those responsible and recommend necessary corrective actionsAnalyze and interpret blueprints, routings, evaluation sheets, manuals and other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment and certification methods, formulas, and measuring instruments requiredClean, maintain, repair and calibrate measuring instruments and test equipment and work closely with engineers to define and implement inspection methods on new products during developmentInspect manufactured components, train and mentor others on inspection procedures, techniques and tool usage

What We Are Looking For…

High school diploma or equivalent requiredAt least 6 months of related work experienceKnowledge of and ability to apply inspection techniques (e.g., formalized inspection standards, inspection instructions, best practices) and use inspection tools efficientlyThe ability to read and use micrometers, functional and cylindrical gauges, comparators, indicator setups, scalesKnowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) including the ability to define tolerances on prints and perform inspection techniquesKnowledge of CMM operations including setup, programming and controlsKnowledge of quality management systems and experience working in ISO 9100 environmentKnowledge of and ability to communicate technical and complex material to multiple audiences with differing knowledge levelsThe ability to provide excellent service to internal customersThe ability to see details (e.g., letters, numbers, codes, color, symbols, marks, labels, signs) clearly to accomplish work tasks in a safe and efficient manner and possessing strong hand-eye coordinationAbility to work 2nd shift: Sunday – Weds 10-hour days (typical start time is between 1-2pm).
