CMM Technician

We are seeking a CMM Technician in our Monroe, CT facility where we we produce ceramic composite materials and manufacture products from these advanced materials for semiconductor industry. This role inspects products using gauges, Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), scales, oscilloscope, precision hand tools and vision prior to shipment. Schedule for this role is 1st shift: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Read and interpret highly complex blueprints Recommend software changes and improvements when necessary Edit programs, when necessary Recommend improvements and/or changes to continually improve processes Complete assigned work within specified deadlines Generate spreadsheets for data collection and maintain data accuracy and integrity Reconcile final inspection documentation for shipments Test incoming raw materials Train Inspection Technicians Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) Complete all other reasonable duties, as assigned

Education & Experience

High School diploma or equivalent 1+ year experience operating CMM and QC inspection Previous experience in a quality position and ASQ certified technician desirable Experience with precision measurement methods and systems Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and procedures closely while offering suggestions for continuous improvement Experience with computer (spreadsheets, Email, MRP systems)

Skills

Ability to learn basic to complex CMM programming Ability to learn PC-DMIS, and Calypso Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and process procedures Expertise in mechanical testing of materials such as density and modulus along with ultrasonic inspection (A-scan) and micro hardness testing desirable Basic reading and math skills Good manual dexterity Keen attention to detail and to follow documented procedures and standards Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to assure on-time delivery requirements Has a sound working relationship with all colleagues (i.e., peers, engineers, supervisors, managers) Excellent time-management skills with the ability to work independently with little supervision Ability to work in a cross-cultural, team based environment Good interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills

Manufacturing environment and QC department

Physical Requirements

Able to frequently lift/push/pull objects that are 50 pounds, or heavier, repeatedly Able to sit, stand, bend, squat and walk about the facility Walking/standing a minimum of 8 hours per day
