Carroll Community School District Position Title: Tier I General Education Teacher Associate Qualifications: 1. High school graduate or equivalency diploma2. Prior satisfactory work experience with children or youth preferred3. Evidence of mental and emotional maturity and stability4. Technology Skills5. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable Reports To: Building Principal/Designee Supervises: All job areas assigned by the Building Principal/Designee Position Goal: Supervision and support of students Performance Responsibilities: 1. Reports to work as scheduled on a regular and reliable basis. 2. Works with students in asupportive roleunder conditions determined by the instructional professional staff responsible for the students, but not as a substitute for or replacement of functions and duties of a teacher as established in the Code. 3. Assists teachers or media center specialists as determined by the building principala. Assists with small-group and/or individual instructional reinforcement, tutor individual students at teacher's request daily or as needed. b. Assists teachers in maintaining discipline and follows through with prescribed classroom management programs daily. c. Assists with preparation of instructional materials daily as needed. d. Assists teacher with reports and related clerical functions daily as needed. 4. Assists in teacher and/or administrator in supervision of students in loading/unloading buses, hallways, in gym, on playground and in individualized settings and as otherwise directed daily. 5. Assists in emergency situations (may require lifting and carrying of students). 6. Operates standard school equipment such as laminator, copier, audiovisual equipment, etc. 7. Helps with integration of technology as needed. 8. Participates in required professional development as designated by the District a. Bloodborne Pathogens b. Mandatory Reporter: Child & adult c. De-escalation 9. Required to attend 5 professional development days throughout the school year: 2 at the beginning of the school year and 3 as determined by the District during the school year. 10. Demonstrates professionalism and maintains confidentiality. 11. Assumes other duties as requested by superintendent, building principal, or designee. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and length of contract to be set and reviewed by the board annually.
