CMT Field Technician

**Job Summary:**
As a CMT Field Technician, you will be responsible for testing, sampling, and inspecting construction materials such as soils, concrete, asphalt, and steel. You will work closely with engineers and construction teams to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
****Requirements:****
• Must be able and willing to work some weekends and occasional overtime.
• Must be capable to document, prepare and submit observation data, time and expense data using a smart phone or tablet computer.
• Ability to clearly provide and receive detailed information through oral communication.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must successfully complete background and motor vehicle record check.
• Must follow Construction Site Safety rules and practices.
**Technical Requirements:**
Preference will be given to candidates who is actively registered with one (1) or more of the following technical credentials:
• ACI 1 - Concrete Field-Testing Technician
• NICET Level I or II in Soils or Equivalent
• NJSAT HMA Construction Technologist or Equivalent
• NJSAT HMA Plant Technologist Level 1 or Equivalent
• NJDCA Special Inspector License (Concrete Placement)
• Nuclear Density Gauge Safety Training
****Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:****
• Perform daily observations of construction/ project sites in tri-state areas and ensure compliance with building standards and project specifications.
• Reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
• Prepares detailed written reports detailing findings, observations, and test results.
• Soils technician duties include Geotechnical construction observation and nuclear density testing.
• Hot-Mixed Asphalt technician duties include asphalt pavement construction observation and nuclear density testing and asphalt plant laboratory testing.
• Concrete technician duties include testing of slump, air, unit weight, temperature and fabrication of test cylinders and beams in accordance with ASTM standards.
• Implements Atlas' Think 12 safety philosophy and follows our Corporate Health and Safety policies and procedures.
**Work Environment:**
The work environment for a CMT Field Technician is primarily outdoors on construction sites. It may involve exposure to loud noises, dust, and varying weather conditions. Proper safety equipment and precautions must be adhered to at all times.
