CNA2 - Health Unit Coordinator with the Medical Surgical Unit at Providence Hood River Hospital.  This posting represents a per diem/pre-scheduled on-call opening, offering night shifts.  Shifts offered include work hours from 1900-0730 (12-hour shifts).   We offer a 14% of base hourly pay, per diem pay premium!  Apply today!

The CNA2/HUC is a key person within the nursing unit who provides overall administrative and technical assistance and support in the operation of the assigned nursing unit; Collaborates with other staff and leaders in the development, oversight and operation of the unit. This position is the hub of all communication to and from the nursing unit and greatly impacts the 'tone' of the unit/shift.

Required Qualifications: 

Coursework/Training - Training in a recognized health care program. Or equivalent educ/experience,  1 year experience performing secretarial duties in healthcare. Equivalent knowledge. Grandfathered to CNA 2 per OSBN requirements. Coursework/Training - Medical terminology course. Or equivalent educ/experience,  Coursework/Training - Completion of Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) recognized Acute Care CNA 2 course. Or equivalent educ/experience,  Oregon Nursing Assistant Certification License upon hire.  National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.  Experience with a variety of software applications.

Preferred Qualifications: 

Coursework/Training - One year of post-high school education.    Coursework/Training - Satisfactory completion of Health Unit Coordinator course. Or equivalent educ/experience,  National Certification Health Unit Coordinator upon hire.  Experience as a preceptor/role model. 1 year - Experience as a CNA 2.
