Certified Nursing Assistant Trainee (CNA) Position Summary
TidalHealth is looking for candidates for our Certified Nursing Assistant Trainee (CNA) Program. TidalHealth has designed an internal Certified Nursing Assistant course called the TidalHealth Nursing Assistant program that we have submitted for approval by the Maryland Board of Nursing. This program will provide an opportunity for selected candidates to obtain their CNA & GNA certification and professional licensure with the Maryland Board of Nursing. Candidates will earn an hourly wage while in class and then be placed into a fulltime CNA/GNA position with TidalHealth upon successful completion of the program. In return for Tidalhealth providing the training, the selected candidate will go into a training agreement with TidalHealth that states you will work for TidalHealth for a minimum allocated time.
The training is a six-week program that include both classroom and a clinical rotation, according to the requirements and standards as defined by the Maryland Board of Nursing. The classroom training will be located at Somerset County High School in Westover, MD and the clinical rotation will take place at our skilled nursing home Tidalhealth McCready in Crisfield, MD. Classroom hours: Monday to Thursday 3pm to 8pm
Upon completion of the CNA Trainee program, candidates will apply for their Maryland CNA and GNA(Geriatric Nursing Assistant) license with the Maryland Board of Nursing. Candidates will then be placed into a fulltime CNA/GNA position with TidalHealth- McCready in Crisfield, MD .
Certified Nursing Assistant Trainee (CNA) Position Requirements
No previous healthcare experienced needed.
High School Diploma or GED is required .
Must achieve a minimum score (6TH grade comprehension) on both the Reading and Math assessment, that will be scheduled with Lower Shore Workforce Alliance.
Certified Nursing Assistant Trainee (CNA) Work Schedule
May be assigned to day, evening, or night shifts or a combination per departmental policy. Scheduled off at least three holidays per year. Required to work weekends per unit need. Expected to work overtime on occasion.Certified Nursing Assistant Trainee (CNA) Benefits
At TidalHealth, team members working at least 36 hours per pay period based on 12-hour shift schedules or at least 37.5 hours for non 12-hour shift schedules and part-time team members work (king at least 30 hours or more on weekends only are eligible for benefits.
