Overview

As a CNA at CHI LakeWood Health, you will help our patients by providing nursing care to our Long Term Care (LTC) residents under the direction of the physician or registered nurse.

Every day you will work with our patients to evaluate their needs and provide physical or psychosocial care.  To be successful in this role, you must have a genuine compassion for your patients’ well-being and understand the role you play in helping our our patients feel at ease. You also have the patience to explain the process, answer questions and update documentation. 

To thrive in this role you will be organized and prioritize accordingly. You will demonstrate the ability to work independently; have strong written and verbal skills with the ability to engage others. Your leadership skills will  allow you to handle conflicts resulting in a positive outcome.

Responsibilities
Contributes to the assessment of the health status of patients.Perform administrative requirements, such as completing necessary forms, charts, reports, etc., and submit these as may be required.Communicate patient information with care teams.Assist patients/families with meals or changing bed linens.Reports any changes in a patient's condition to the Charge Nurse.Must have ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a diverse environment.Amongst additional responsibilities.
Qualifications
Certified Nursing Assistant or willing to obtain certification for the position within six (6) months.Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association.Must be at least 16 years of age.Excellent verbal and written communication skills needed.Ability to multi-task and prioritizeAbility to maintain high level of accuracy when documenting cares.
