CNC Brake Press Set Up/Operator

Job Description

Our client is a world class precision manufacturer of metal components and sub-assemblies that use metal cutting, forming, machining, welding, assembly and paint. They use state-of-the-art machining and fabrication techniques in a lean, self-directed work team manufacturing environment to produce high value-added, cost-effective products for their strategic partners.

Position: CNC Brake press set up/operator

Permanent after 3 months of probation

Dayshift (afternoons if needed) Overtime.

Location: Oakville

Payrate: $26.00 to $28.00 per hour to start (DOE)

Responsibilities

Must be able to effectively read and interpret blueprints / schematics to perform accurate set-ups. Able to interpret precise measuring instruments. (radius gages, vernier, height stand) to check products for correct shapes, dimensions and other specifications. Able to set-up machines based on job requirements, using fixtures, backstop adjustments, ram adjustments etc. Able to make adjustments to programs and tooling to produce quality product. Able to load/unload tooling and set-up equipment. Must have good communication skills - excellent command of the English language. Ability to train and mentor new and existing staff in the brake press department. Mathematically inclined Problem solving skills. Attention to detail. Knowledge of Cincinnati and Pacific brake presses an asset. Requirements

Education & Qualifications

High School Diploma – good Math and Mechanical Drawing skills. 3 years of experience. Experience with forklift, jib/overhead cranes are an asset. Physically capable of performing the essential duties and responsibilities of the position including regular lifting and carrying of 5-23 kgs. Ability to work safe and independently within a fast-paced environment. Written and oral communication in English.
