Job Title: CNC Machining Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a CNC Machining Engineer to support a manufacturing client in Oklahoma City. The role involves planning, designing, and integrating machinery and equipment into the manufacturing process. Key responsibilities include developing equipment specifications, writing CNC (G-code) programs, overseeing installations, and ensuring machines operate according to specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of CNC machine operations, setup concepts, and experience with robotic and programmable controllers. Additionally, the role requires collaboration with various departments to implement procedures, resolve malfunctions, and improve production methods.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop and write equipment specifications, performance requirements, cost analyses, and proposals for integrating machinery and equipment such as CNC lathes, CNC mills, robotic controllers, and programmable controllers into the manufacturing process.Write and understand CNC (G-code) programs.Understand CNC machine operations and setup concepts, including setting offsets, work coordinates, and tool lengths.Oversee the installation of machines and equipment to ensure they are installed and functioning according to specifications.Test the ability of machines, such as robots, to perform tasks.Collaborate with personnel to implement operating procedures and resolve system malfunctions.Determine parts supply, maintenance tasks, safety procedures, and service schedules required to maintain machines and equipment in prescribed condition.Develop models of alternate processing methods to test the feasibility of new applications of system components and recommend improved procedures.Participate in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to stay updated on new developments in the field.Provide technical information to workers in other departments such as marketing, legal, and engineering.Develop and conduct equipment training programs and demonstrate skills to trainees.Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.Ensure adherence to the policies, procedures, and instructions of the QS 9000 and MS 9000 systems.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or three to five years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.Must be able to read and understand English.Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts.Ability to apply mathematical operations to tasks such as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with robotic and programmable controllers.Strong understanding of CNC machine operations and setup concepts.Experience in developing equipment specifications and writing CNC (G-code) programs.
