**Location: Gardena, CA (Open to traveling machinist / Per Diem)** **Shift: 2nd & 3rd** **Pay Rate: $42/HR ($235 a day per diem)** **Job Title: CNC Machinist** **Job Description** We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist proficient in gear grinding and profile grinding machines. The ideal candidate will master CNC gear profile grinding and surface grinding to ensure high precision and efficiency. **Responsibilities** + Master the CNC gear profile grinding machines. + Measure critical dimensions and surface finish, and read gear charts. + Call the program, dress the wheel, and touch off gear faces to check proper length of grind. + Perform pilot grind, grind the profile, and make necessary corrections. + Make basic edits to the program and perform calculations. + Indicate the part, make adjustments, and offset follows when setting up the part. + Handle job shop lot sizes between 4-16 lots, setting up at least once a day. + Work with profile grinders to grind gear profiles, handling parts/gears from 2 inches to about 56 inches. + Operate cranes for larger parts, including spur gear, dual helical gear, and helical gears. **Essential Skills** + Proficiency in CNC gear profile grinding and surface grinding. + Experience with Kapp Niles, Siemens, and Hoffman machines. + Ability to use a variety of hand tools, gauges, and dial indicators. + Skilled in using gear tooth calipers, tooth thickness micrometer, and precision tape (pi tape). + Familiarity with gear analyzers and diddle equipment for profile accuracy. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with AGMA15, Gleason Phoenix 280G, Reishauer RZ 260, and Liebherr LGG 280 machines. + Strong understanding of gearing terminology and gear charts. **Why Work Here?** Our company offers a highly specialized environment in gear grinding, providing opportunities to work with advanced machinery and technology.
