Responsibilities: + Operate CNC boring mills and similar machinery with minimal supervision, producing high-quality parts. + Perform full machine setup, operation, and inspection, ensuring adherence to tight tolerances and efficient production + Interpret technical documents, including blueprints, manuals, and specifications to determine machining requirements + Mark materials with reference points and dimensions for accurate machining + Identify and correct machine malfunctions or deviations, making adjustments as needed; report major issues to supervisor + Support resolution of complex operational issues and participate in cost-reduction initiatives + Use forklifts and lifting devices to move parts safely + Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and other personnel to address production and quality concerns + Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment and work area; perform routine preventative maintenance + Enforce and follow all company health, safety, and environmental policies + Perform additional duties as assigned. Education and Qualifications: + Must have a stable work history. + Must have a high school diploma OR GED + 3-5 years of experience operating CNC horizontal boring mills (HBMs) in a heavy manufacturing environment. + Proficiency with Fanuc controls. + Experience with FUNC controls. + Ability to perform complete machine setups independently + Advanced ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications, including GD&T + Solid math skills, including geometry and algebra, for fabrication calculations + Experience with the use of machining measuring tools. + Ability to perform complete machine setups independently. + Advanced ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications, including GD&T. + Solid math skills, including geometry and algebra, for fabrication calculations. + Skilled in the use of precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers (ID/OD), depth gauges, indicators, and scales. + Familiar with various tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, and machine inserts.
