Main Duties & Responsibilities
Summary
Must completely/independently be able to perform, set-up and operate a CNC Mill
machine to manufacture a high complex series of parts. Work with close and high
(tight) tolerances. Must produce high quality parts per drawing, specification
or customer requirements. Supports other CNC Machinists in the department.
Primary Responsibilities
Set-up various types of CNC Mill and make required adjustments to tooling and
tools
Troubleshoot or rework any problems related to set-up or tooling of the
CNC Mill
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, routers and other documentation
related to the parts
Determine reference points and direction of turning points
Set tools per the program, adjust depths accordingly and record all data
Runs and spot checks the part during the operation
Keep machine and work area clean at all times
Return tooling to designated areas
Knowledge and Skills
Demonstrate ability to read and write English of a level required in Company
shop documents. Able to assist other machinists with their machines in a professional manner. Must demonstrate and be capable of applying mathematical
operations using fractions, decimals, trigonometry and geometry as required by
machining operations. Must have demonstrated the capability to set-up and
operate CNC Lathe machines. Must be familiar and capable of using Statistical
Process Control. Must read precision measuring instruments such as comparators,
indicators, calipers and micrometers. May be required to perform other jobs as
needed by the Company.
