Job Summary
Create and edit machine programs used to support automated machining centers.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:
• Program 3-5 axis CNC machining centers from engineer drawings and models
• Ensure all programs and models are up to date
• Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products
• Provide accurate time and material estimates to production management
• Work with designers and engineers to resolve print/part issues and exchange technical information
• Ability to understand and follow the Engineering Change Order process
• Build and design fixtures for work holding as required
• Create setup sheets, work instructions and provide support to CNC operators
• Maintain levels of program traceability
• Use various measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gage)
• Strive to improve manufacturing operational processes
• Train entry level CNC machinists
• Other Duties as assigned.

Education & Experience
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 10 or more years' experience working with CNC Machining and/or training; 3 or more years of programming or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to produce parts utilizing manual mills and lathes
• Ability to modify and create programs using Mastercam
• Able to interpret and edit CNC programs at the machine
• Ability to read and interpret blue print and job traveler specifications to determine the proper tooling required to set up each operation.
• Knowledge of machining the following materials; Stainless Steel, Aluminum, and assorted plastics.
