CNC Machine Programmer (Swing Shift)

Swing Shift Hours:  3:30pm - 2:00am, Monday - Thursday

There is a $2.00 shift differential for swing shift.

This position is located on-site in Layton, Utah.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The NC Programmer plans machining sequences and fixturing for 3-5 axis machine tools.

The following essential job functions are performed as an NC Programmer:

Determines methods, cutter types and cutting parameters depending on a variety of materials (composites, epoxies, steel, aluminum, etc.) and design specifications Designs 3-D computer models, drawings and specifications for fabrication of fixturing elements Creates 3-5 axis tool paths utilizing Unigraphics CAD/CAM software, preferably Simens NX Provides input in production tracking software Works with process engineers on planning of manufacturing process to ensure that quality and design objectives are achieved Creates shop documentation for setup of the machines complying with ISO 9000 standards Analyzes laser-tracking data to assure quality of the setup, when applicable Works with the machinists to make sure setup and machining procedures are followed Perform tool path verification using Vericut software General knowledge of standard G-Code language, machine offsets, and part location Setup and operate the following equipment. CNC and manual mills, lathes, drill presses, grinders, waterjets and band saws Composite and Metallics Machining Reads and understands engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning & tolerancing, and work orders Accurate use of precision measuring instruments (ie: micrometers, calipers, etc,) and working to tight tolerances Visually inspect and deburr parts. Attention to detail and quality is required Performs other duties as assigned. Behavior: The incumbent must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines. The incumbent shall, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.

QUALIFICATIONS

MUST BE U.S. CITIZEN OR LEGAL PERMANENT RESIDENT FOR THIS POSITION.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or GED required, college level or trade school education preferred. One or more years of experience in related field may be substituted for education. Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Wage range for this role is between $27 - $58 an hour plus a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts, off-site work, and access pay. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities.
