The CNC Machining Manufacturing Engineer supports all facets of the operation including but not limited to the machining processes, automation, and the other service efforts to keep a continuous flow of high quality castings through the plant. Manage launch of new programs including: quoting CNC fixtures and tooling, working with vendors on development of the fixtures / tooling, installing equipment, programming and runoffs / launch of new machining programs. Manage the launch of secondary equipment such as assembly and leak test equipment, and to the customer by accurately providing and reporting the significant aspects of visual, dimensional, and process information available.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Manage projects throughout the entire manufacturing process to eliminate waste. This will include development of project business case, effective measurement systems, schedules, etc.Ability to manage cross-functional teams.Promote a predictive, not reactive, maintenance philosophy by taking a proactive approach to preventative maintenance and quality.Strong understanding of both the theory and implementation of Lean Manufacturing techniques is vital to success.Manage the capital budget to achieve corporate designated returns of investments.Coordinate the manufacturing launch of new products.Monitor and sustain performance on existing jobs.Develop facility layouts to optimize flow and use of space.Establish manufacturing engineering goals to support the improvement of cost, quality (scrap), delivery, safety, and asset utilization.Accountable for supervising 3 shifts of the Machining Technician support to assure production objectives and quality standards at the least controllable cost through maximized machine utilization and operating efficiency.Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.Other duties as assigned.#LI-SP1
Requirements Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or five (5) years related experience in the CNC Engineering field.Must have automotive industry experience.Prior work experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in CNC Machining or Die Cast.Strong statistical and problem solving knowledgeExperience with lean manufacturing techniquesProficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)Additional Experience Preferred:
