CNC Machinist
**Job Title: Machinist** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team. You will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC turning and milling machines, including Mori Siekis and Doosans. This role requires a keen eye for detail and proficiency in using precision measuring tools, such as micrometers, calipers, and pin gauges, to check parts. You will be expected to interpret blueprints on a daily basis and perform multiple setups per day, selecting the appropriate tooling and fixtures to ensure quality output. **Responsibilities** + Set up, adjust, and operate CNC mills and lathes, ensuring precision machining operations. + Select and prepare tools, machines, and materials for machinery work. + Align and secure fixtures, cutting tools, and materials onto machines. + Calculate dimensions and tolerances using mathematical knowledge and precision instruments. + Machine parts to specifications using tools like lathes and milling machines. + Measure, examine, and test completed units to ensure conformance to specifications. + Monitor machine feed and speed during the machining process. + Study blueprints and engineering information to determine fabrication methods and sequences. + Diagnose machine malfunctions and determine necessary adjustments or repairs. + Ensure work pieces are properly lubricated and cooled. + Position and fasten work pieces securely. + Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency. + Clean and lubricate machines to maintain optimal performance. + Advise clients about materials used for finished products. + Confer with engineering and manufacturing personnel for technical information exchange. + Collaborate with engineering and cutting tool suppliers to improve tool life. + Design and create fixtures, tooling, and experimental parts for special engineering needs. **Essential Skills** + 3+ years of machining and CNC setup experience + Proficiency in blueprint reading + Ability to recognize potential problems without solving them + Daily operation of one or more CNC machines while meeting quality and safety requirements + Capability to lift/push/pull up to 30 pounds + Ability to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms for 8 hours or more **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with GD&T, troubleshooting, and changeovers + Knowledge of Solidworks, Cad/Cam, and basic fixture design + Experience in a cell-based work area, operating multiple machines simultaneously **Why Work Here?** Join an engaging work environment with opportunities for advancement and tuition reimbursement. This position offers a pathway to advance to a Machinist 3 role. **Work Environment** Work in a large company setting with multiple buildings, although you will be assigned to one building. The work area is organized in cells, allowing for operation on more than one machine at a time. The dress code includes jeans and a work shirt, providing a comfortable yet professional attire. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hillside, Illinois. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $24.76 - $29.65/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
