What You Will Contribute:
Badger Meter is looking for a second shift CNC Machinist. This position is responsible for the support of all departments (plant and administration) in the Tulsa Facility. Responsible for observing safe work habits and maintaining cleanliness of work area. Proceeds under general supervision. Possesses good communication skills and is able to work in a team environment. Work subject to process and final inspection in accordance with Badger Meter’s quality management system. May be assigned to work in other departments or perform other duties as instructed by management.
Set up, assist and/ or operate conventional, special-purpose, computer and numerical control CNC machines to fabricate metallic and non-metallic parts by applying knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, and layout techniques.
Work from detailed instructions, blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, and specifications.
Sample part to determine dimensions and tolerance of finished work piece.
Verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining
Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out of tolerance machining.
Adjusts machine controls, offsets, fixtures and stops as required.
Set up and operate machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings.
Qualifications:
High School degree or equivalent
1-3 years of Mill/Lathe experience, ability to modify/optimize CNC programs
