Our client, a manufacturing company in Chelmsford, MA is looking to hire a CNC Machinist -Setup. The ideal candidate will need the ability to use measuring tools like calipers and micrometers along with familiarity with CNC machine controls and safety procedures. Responsibilities for this position include setting up and operating machines in accordance with process sheets and any other required paperwork (i.e. drawings, specifications, etc.).

The Day-to-Day:

Obtain set-up approval from the coordinator before running production.Create, edit, and/or retrieve CNC programs from system files and execute.Select tooling from the written process sheet and interpret the programming sequence.Make adjustments to machines as needed and perform minor repairs.Troubleshoot to identify major repair problems and bring them to the attention of appropriate personnel.Perform preventative maintenance on a regular basis.Manage the machine to make sure that it is properly operating and producing parts efficientlyCheck parts and record measurements using micrometers and calipers on the In-process Inspection Log.Read drawings, and product requirements on the traveler, and know where critical characteristics are.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GEDReading and interpreting blueprintsUnderstanding of machining processesAbility to lift, pull, and push up to 50lbs.

Pay Rate/Shifts:

$35.00 to $38.00 /hrMonday to Friday7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
