CNC Machinist
Perform safety inspections using corporate tools and conduct safety talks, identify, and ensure that safety hazards and unsafe practices are promptly corrected.       Set up and operate both conventional and CNC machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, radial drills, and bandsaws to cut, bore, grind, or otherwise shape parts to prescribed dimensions and finishes. Preparing both rough sketches and detailed work with CAD (Edgecam, AutoCAD, Inventor). Be responsible to produce all relevant fabrication drawings upon request to the relevant Ford standards and procedures. Program the CNC machine both on the Controller as well as the programming software provided, inputting the design specifications, and ensuring the machine performs as required. Select metals to be used from a range of metals based on properties such as hardness and heat tolerance.            Ensure that all drawings and work instructions are kept up to date. Breakdown assistance on the Production line to set up and operate drill presses to drill and tap holes in parts for assembly when required. Smooth and polish flat and contoured surfaces of parts or tools, using scrapers, abrasive stones, files, emery cloths, or power grinders.   Study and Interpret blueprints, sketches, models, or specifications to plan sequences of operations for fabricating tools or jigs. Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators. Conduct regular Preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machines, ensuring they operate smoothly and efficiently. Report non-conformance.  Support continuous improvement actions with MIG welding assembly process.
