Job Description
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience setting up and operating large/medium milling machines, including vertical turning lathes (VTL). You will work on a variety of components, from small parts to large 60\" diameter disc brakes, using advanced machinery and live tooling cranes. This position requires a willingness to work on the afternoon shift and the ability to troubleshoot and assign work from dispatch reports.
Work Environment
Training will be provided on the day shift (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM) for 4-6 weeks. The main shift is the afternoon shift, from 2:00 PM - 12:30 AM, Monday to Thursday, with a $2.00 afternoon premium. You will work in a large manufacturing environment with sections for manual and CNC departments. The CNC department, where you will primarily operate, includes around 40 shop employees and 30 office staff. The company designs its own parts, ensuring steady workflow and employment. You will work with materials such as aluminum, steel, and brass, and collaborate with engineers and R&D for continuous improvement.
ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate CNC machines, including large/medium milling machines and vertical turning lathes (VTL).Run multiple machines daily, producing components ranging from small parts to large 60\" diameter disc brakes.Work from engineering drawings to set up machines with the necessary parts, tooling, and fixtures.Edit and program machines using FANUC controls and MasterCam.Troubleshoot issues and assign work to team members based on dispatch reports.Operate with precision, maintaining tolerances of +/- .0002.Handle large pieces, up to 25 inches round and 200-300 pounds, with assistance.Ensure smooth production flow and quality output.Essential SkillsProficiency in 5-axis milling.Ability to read engineering drawings, program machines, and set up and run production.Experience with FANUC controls and MasterCam.Knowledge of high-speed machine programming.Experience with vertical turning lathes (VTL).Additional Skills & QualificationsOverhead crane experience.Lathe experience.Ability to set up, operate, and run a 3-axis milling machine.Experience machining in bronze.Open to running manual machines.Strong communication and leadership skills.Self-starter and able to work independently and as part of a team.Why Work Here?

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $43.00/hr.
