We’re seeking a hands-on CNC Operator to join our Dayton, OH team. In this role, together with your colleagues you are responsible for operating modern turning and milling centers, directly contributing to the manufacturing process of our highly complex prototype components. You will work closely with the CAM programming team as well as the manufacturing engineers.
Responsibilities Setting up and optimizing manufacturing processes on the machineSelecting clamping devices and tools, as well as setting up workpiecesTroubleshooting in the manufacturing process and coordinating with the teamEnsuring the required component qualityConducting measurementsAs a startup, we use new technologies, and the decision-to-implementation process is short. You can also contribute outside your designated tasks. For example, you can participate in the selection and procurement process of clamping devices and tool systems or participate in performance tests and experimentsEnsuring a smooth workflow in the workshop (supporting Quality Assurance) Required Vocational training as a machinist, CNC specialist, industrial mechanic, or a comparable qualificationSeveral years of professional experience in machining, especially with complex prototype partsExperience in reading and understanding technical drawings including GD&T Proficiency in modern Heidenhain control systemIndependent and transparent work style with a focus on teamwork Desired Understanding engineering drawings and using calipers, micrometers, and gauges.Ability to identify and resolve machining issues, optimize processes, and ensure quality.Comfort with basic arithmetic, algebra, and trigonometry for accurate machining.Commitment to Safety & Compliance – Understanding of workplace safety procedures, Lockout/Tagout, and proper use of PPE.Ability to prioritize tasks, meet production deadlines, and minimize downtime.Willingness to collaborate with machinists, engineers, and quality teams for smooth operations. The target base pay for this position is $32 - $52 per hour salary. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
