CNC Machinist Weekend - Full Time (Fri-Sun/every other TR)

We are seeking a CNC Machinists for our weekend shift in our Newark, Delaware facility where we produce ceramic composite materials and manufacture products from these advanced materials for the thermal management, defense, industrial, optics and semiconductor industries. Our CNC Machinists set-up and operate computer numerical control machines to manufacture parts to print tolerances independently with minimal supervision. We offer full benefits and regular pay increases.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Performs typical machine shop operations Set up and operate machining center(s) per work instructions Analyze written specifications, drawings and rough sketches and takes verbal instructions to plan layout and determine sequence of operations Follow work instructions and standard operating procedures Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to management or other designee Perform the following tasks including, but not limited to: milling, turning, drilling, tapping, de-burring, sawing and sanding Perform inspection of machined product (including documentation of results) Complete and maintain paperwork for parts Assist in other work areas, including but not limited to, pre-form fabrication, lay-up, infiltration, furnace operation and sand blasting Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve issues Complete other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

Minimum four (4) years’ experience as CNC Operator or equivalent technical machining certification/degree Previous experience setting up and operating a CNC machine in a production environment Experience with precision measurement methods and systems Experience with computers (data entry, email)

Skills

Demonstrated ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide (i.e., proven elementary math skills) Ability to read, write and speak the English language (i.e., proven elementary reading and writing skills) Demonstrated ability to converse and comprehend using the English language Demonstrated ability to use a standard computer keyboard Demonstrated ability to use handheld measuring tools including, but not limited to, calipers, micrometer, tape measures, etc. Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend engineering blueprints and/or customer product drawings

Physical Requirements

Able to frequently lift/push/pull objects that are up to 50 pounds, repeatedly. Able to sit, stand, bend, squat and walk about the facility. Ability to work productively in an environment with a wide range of temperatures. Able to walk/stand a minimum of twelve (12) hours per day.
