CNC Operator - 2nd Shift

Employee needs to be well versed on operating designated equipment in established production cells and adhering to Safety/Quality/Delivery and CT standards As we want to engage and involve all employees in creating a sustainable problem solving culture driven at creating an exceptional customer experience, this position will support the execution of both the physical and cultural change within our Bradley Operating System (BOS) and is responsible for participating in the development, recommendation and implementation of continuous improvement ideas, process improvement teams, and activities for improving plant performance, as requested. Here’s how you’ll contribute: Production Operations: Adhere to Company Policies Comply with all safety requirements of Company and OSHA Must be able to produce to and Validate Product to Quality Standard and Product Specification Adherence to Standard Work, specified as to Content, Sequence, Timing and Outcome Proper use and handling of Company material, tools, processes and equipment Properly and accurately report transactions such as but not limited to: attendance, labor reporting, inventory and operational data collection Skills (Necessary and/or Desired): Able to lift and handle material and product as referenced in the Physical Demands section Able to follow instruction and possess fine motor skills to work with small parts (such as screws) Able to read and understand blue prints and process instructions Able to read and understand BOM Routing and Associated Work Instructions Able to operate hand tools such as but not limited to: Drills, Drivers, Saw, Router, Weld, Rivet Load / unload equipment and operate according to Standard Work / OMS CNC Operation: Able to perform machine start-up process adherence Able to call-up required programs for operation (familiarity with computer programs) Able to perform necessary tooling changes Able to return machine to home position, make tooling off-set editing, and validate square-ness of product Additional Expectations: Must be a good listener, good communicator and work well in a team setting Maintain good standing relative to the Attendance Control Program Maintain good standing relative to Performance Management Be capable of operating to standards Assist Manufacturing Engineers with updating/developing Operational Method Sheets (OMS) at the operational level Failure to meet the additional expectations identified here, as well as the above requirements. As the CNC Operator (2nd Shift), you will drive and maintain a culture of continuous improvement within our Bradley Operating System (BOS). Responsible for operating CNC equipment, you may occasionally rotate through the Locker and Non-Metals lines, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, delivery, and cycle-time standards. Reporting onsite and collaborating with the broader team, you will propose and implement process improvements and support a world-class customer experience. You Will: + Produce and Validate Product to Quality Standard and Product Produce and validate product to quality standards and specifications. + Follow standard work procedures (content, sequence, timing, and outcome). + Handle company materials, tools and equipment responsibly. + Report attendance, labor, inventory, and operational data. + Perform machine startup tasks, including calling up required CNC programs and tooling changes. + Return the machine to the home position, make tooling offset edits, and verify product square-ness. + Comply with all company and OSHA safety requirements. + Assist Manufacturing Engineers by updating or developing Operational Method Sheets (OMS). You Have: + High school diploma or GED; Industrial Arts courses preferred. + 2+ years of general shop experience or an equivalent combination of education and training. + Fine motor skills suited for working with small parts (e.g., screws). + Ability to read and understand blueprints, BOM routing, process instructions, and work instructions. + Proficiency with hand tools such as drills, drivers, saws, routers, welders, and rivet tools. + Skill in loading and unloading equipment and following standard work or OMS guidelines. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment: Work in both office and manufacturing environment. May occasionally be required to perform job duties outside the typical office setting.
