Apply now. **Available Shift - 1st Shift - 5:00 am to 5:00 pm** **A Brief Summary of This Position** Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Machine Operator 5 position. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will assist in various daily manufacturing production activities across multiple departments within the plant. Additionally, you will… **Essential Functions** + Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling etc. + Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings etc. + Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function. + Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines. + Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications. + Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate large number of parts. + Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result. + Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly. + Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality. + Participate in Lean manufacturing, Gemba and 5S. + Demonstrate excellent safety practices and behaviors which conform to all Valmont safety policies and procedures. + Performs other duties directed by leaders and management. **Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)** + Proven experience as CNC operator. + Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools. + Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings. + Computer savvy with basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM. + Mechanical aptitude and good math skills. + A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach. + Good communication abilities. + High school diploma or equivalent; certificate or diploma in engineering or relevant discipline is a plus. + Ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a professional manner. + Ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions. + Ability to work overtime as required to meet business needs. + Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds, although most frequent lift is up to 30 pounds. + Ability to spend 75% of workday standing or walking, 10% bending or kneeling, 10% stooping, and 5% climbing. + Self-motivated ability to be internally inspired to perform task to the best of one’s ability using his/her own drive or initiative. + Passion and integrity with the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results. **Educational Background** + Must be able to read and write legibly. + Must possess adequate communication and interpersonal skills to successfully interact with other employees. + Must display and aptitude for problem solving and the ability to plan for potential problems or needs. **Job Conditions** Requires employee to work outside in heat, cold, wet and humid dusty environment. **Benefits** Valmont offers employees and their families a comprehensive Total Wellbeing benefit package to ensure their individual and family’s overall wellness needs are met.
