SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, this entry level position will assist in the creation and troubleshooting of programs using best work holding and safety practices for CNC lathes and mills. Edit and troubleshoot existing programs as needed. Will aid with proving out new processes and tooling to maximize production. Generate set up sheets to go with programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Initial programming of components on two and three axis machining centers (CNC Mills, Lathes, Wire EDM and Laser)Horizontal milling Machines programmingMulti-axis Machining and programmingDebugging of programs, processes and toolingMaintenance of existing programsModification and transfer of existing programs to machining centersProves out programs and new processesConsider tools required to cut specific materials and program machines accordinglyOrder and organize tooling for CNC equipmentCommunicate effectively with team members and ManagementOther duties as assigned
Critical Competencies
CAD/CAM Proficiency: Skilled in using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software to create and modify programs: Mastercam experience plus.Knowledge of GD&TMetrologyMathematics: Strong understanding of geometry and trigonometry to calculate dimensions and tolerances.G-Code programingMacro ProgrammingAbility to maintain high level of confidentialityAbility to prioritize work, meet deadlinesBlueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprintsAdhere to all quality and safety codesMachine Operation: Knowledge of setting up and operating CNC machines, including selecting appropriate tooling.
Education and Experience Requirements
High School diploma or equivalentCNC Machining experience required
