CNC SUPERVISOR

Position Summary:

The CNC Supervisor is responsible for supervising shop employees in a manufacturing setting who are operating CNC machines to produce machined parts. This effort includes, but is not limited to, plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. This individual works with operators and other departments to ensure products are being made up to company standards and timeline goals.

Essential Functions:

Works from a production schedule to execute throughput of high-volume components and plan the use of resources

Follows up on set ups, scheduling operators, review production status, troubleshoot equipment, ensure quality and delivery

Coordinates production between departments. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to find solutions with production bottlenecks is needed

Works efficiently to achieve targeted goals as set by the production schedule

Ability to operate the milling machines while overseeing the other operators

Properly and safely loads and unloads materials in CNC machinery

Uses gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements

Ability to setup, program, operate and troubleshoot CNC without assistance

Ability to reduce setup time and machining through process improvements

Proficient with FANUC controls, HAAS controls, or Mazak controls

Understands, interprets and edits G-code programs

Recognizes, deploys and properly uses inserts, fixtures and tooling

Understands and has the ability to perform tool wear offsets

Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC machinery

Assists in the organization and maintenance of the machine shop work environment

Provides constant feedback and input into process improvement within the department

Utilizes and abides by ISO requirements and safety procedures

Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions

Communicates thoughts and ideas, both verbally and in writing, to co-workers and management

Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies

Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role

Represents the company in a professional manner and uphold the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties

Qualifications:

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent

Past experience training, developing, disciplining, reviewing and motivating employees is needed.

Working knowledge of computers and computer systems

5+ years machining experience

At least 3 years of set-up experience on CNC Mill/Turn or CNC Mill Equipment

Blueprint reading and first piece inspection knowledge

Strong planning skills, the ability to motivate others and resolve production issues

Strong supervision skills

Good listening skills, to be able to hear that the machine is operating smoothly

Conceptual Skills, Process Improvement, Functional and Technical Skills, Controls and Instrumentation, Supply Management, Tooling, Coordination, Inventory Control, Attention to Detail, Judgment

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Attention to detail
