CNC Swiss Machinist

Job Description

A large aerospace manufacturer in Fullerton is seeking a skilled CNC Swiss Screw Machinist for the 2nd shift (3pm-1:30am). This position offers a competitive starting pay with the potential for increases based on experience and availability for overtime (10-20 hours per week). The role involves setting up and operating one or more CNC Screw Machines to perform a variety of machining operations such as boring, threading, facing, grooving, drilling, and turning.

ResponsibilitiesWork from routers and standard work orders to produce parts to specifications.Load bar feeders and monitor overall machine operations.Machine parts to specifications using measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, and thread go/no-go gauges.Receive bar stock and maintain finished goods Kanbans in the screw machine area.Essential SkillsFive (5) years of experience setting up and operating CNC Swiss-Type screw machines.Ability to perform machining operations, working from routers and standard work orders.Proficiency in reading blueprints and having a strong mathematical aptitude.Capable of producing first articles.Additional Skills & QualificationsThorough understanding of setting tool offsets and live tooling (milling cutters).Knowledge of setting up CNC lathe/mill operations for use with ferrous, bar, and extrusion in various alloys.Strong knowledge of calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and various other measuring instruments.Ability to interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering data.Ability to edit programs (G&M codes).Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The work environment is a large aerospace manufacturing facility equipped with various CNC lathes and mills in the machine shop. The 2nd shift position offers a flexible start time between 2:30pm to 4:00pm for 8-hour shifts, with opportunities for overtime.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fullerton, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $35.00
