CNN Digital Features Intern: NYC or ATL - Summer 2025

Your New Role 

This internship will be located in either NYC or ATL area, depending on the candidate. The selected intern will be expected to join us in the office on a regular cadence based on the intern manager’s in office schedule. This role is open to undergrad (Jr/Sr) and graduate level students.

CNN Digital Features team is a diverse group with global reach that includes the Travel, Style, Space + Science and Wellness sections. We create beat specific news and enterprise stories across multiple platforms and collaborate with other units throughout the network. Our intern will become a part of that process, researching, reporting, writing and producing stories across all Features sections.

Your Role Accountabilities 

Learning how stories are craftedLearning how we vet information, research and find sourcesLearning how a story goes from an idea, through edit and onto CNN's digital platformsDeveloping reporting and interview skills.Contributing to and writing original stories for CNN Digital

Qualifications & Experience 

Writing experience with work samples, including published bylines, is required.Candidates should be passionate about news and storytelling, self-motivated and able to multitask.They must be able to function well in a fast-paced, high-volume professional and courteous environment.Candidates should have keen understanding of how to spot and tell a great story.Knowledge or experience in travel, style, health and/or science is a plus.Experience reading, evaluating and reporting on studies and dataBasic understanding of multi- and cross-platform storytellingExperience working in a digital newsroom

Requirements

Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required) Must be a rising Junior, Senior or Graduate Student (18 years or older) Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above GPA) A transcript will be required to verify your GPA if an offer is extended. Warner Bros. Discovery will only consider candidates who are presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and who will not require work visa sponsorship from Warner Bros. Discovery now or in the future in order to retain their authorization to work in the United States. Candidates currently on any student or exchange visa, including F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1, etc., will not be eligible for the internship program.

What to know before applying: 

The duration of the summer program regardless of which start/end option is 11 weeks.   Program date options: Option 1: June 2nd – August 15th  Option 2: June 9th – August 22nd   Interns will be expected to work 35-40 hours per week in a hybrid capacity.  Our internships are paid opportunities with a competitive hourly wage. Credit is not required; however, we will provide the necessary documentation for school credit if desired. Relocation is not provided.  Interviewing will take place from February through mid-April. A WBD team member will contact you if your experiences and interests match an open internship position. Due to the high volume of applications, we are unable to give individual status updates.

 In compliance with local law, we are disclosing compensation for roles in locations where legally required. Pay Rate: $19 per hour USD for undergrad interns, $25 per hour USD for graduate level interns.
