We seek a highly motivated Co-op to join Cell Line Development (CLD), a growing department responsible for generating mammalian cell lines for Sanofi’s R&D biologics pipeline and implementing new technologies and processes for continuous platform improvement. CLD, located in Framingham MA, is global function, supporting research and early development projects at three Sanofi R&D Hubs (North America, France, Germany), and team members routinely work with colleagues at different sites. The work site for this role is Framingham, MA and the candidate should have independent transportation available.
The person in this role will work in a high-performing, fast-paced collaborative environment, and help drive optimization for cell line production of biologics including antibodies and diverse, novel formats. The successful candidate will plan and conduct experiments towards the development of CHO based technologies inclusive of gene design and expression, transfection optimization strategies, building databases, and other cell line development activities. The Co-op will have the opportunity to work both independently as well as part of the team to achieve CLD development objectives. Through this experience, s/he will gain knowledge on CHO production platforms for recombinant Biologics, manufacturing challenges and optimization strategies as well as general drug product development process in an industrial setting.

Key Responsibilities:
Work with supervisor to plan, design and execute experiments, analyze data, and interpret experimental results.
Perform mammalian cell culture experiments including cell thaw, maintenance & routine culture, cell transfection, selection, cell freezing and production batches.
Document laboratory experiments in a timely manner, following standard guidelines.
Work on other experiments and duties as assigned, in discussion with the supervisor.
Basic Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in a molecular biology, cell biology or similar BS, MS or Ph.D. degree program with GPA of ≥ 3.0 (out of 4.0) or equivalent.
Must be enrolled in school the semester following your internship/co-op with Sanofi.
Must be able to relocate to the office location and work 40 hrs./week for the full duration of the internship/co-op
Must have permanent US work authorization
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with molecular biology, mammalian cell culture/aseptic techniques preferred.
Ability to use basic Microsoft office software such as Office, Excel and PowerPoint.
Able to communicate with supervisor and team effectively.
Pay attention to details and possess good organizational skills.
Critical thinking skills and innovative, creative mindset.
