At the General Account Investments Asia (GAIA), you will learn about investments in a range of capacities in relation to business expansion and business oversight. The unique opportunity provides exposure from key functional perspective including strategy, transformation, finance, technology, analytics, risk & governance which forms the backbone to running a growing investments business.
In additional to regular tasks, incumbent will support delivery of various key initiatives and projects for the General Account Investments Asia across the region. Projects range from new investment capability development in our Asia Developed Markets, Emerging Markets, Global High Net Worth Business to technology transformation and process enhancement delivery. Candidate will also have an opportunity to work alongside global teams in collaboration on many exciting endeavors.
What motivates you?
Asia General Account Investments is the investment function for Manulife’s Asia Segment Life Insurance assets. The General Account Investments team manages assets across a range of asset classes directly, manages allocations across asset classes and oversees assets outsourced to Manulife Investment Management investment desks. At Manulife we have a strong history of investment management expertise and capability, driven by the collective capabilities of the Manulife Investment Management public markets and private markets and General Account Investment desks combined.
We are looking for someone with:
o Undergraduate with a major in accounting, finance, economics, business administration, computer science or data science; graduate students with Master of Accounting, Finance, Economics or related subjects
o Strong academic achievement
o Demonstrated knowledge of accounting, financial or investment, strong analytical techniques
o Familiarity with a variety of financial products and services
o Agile, creative and show initiative while working in a challenging and fast paced environment
o Strong written and oral communication skills
o Solid computer experience in Office with a strong aptitude for learning new software packages
o Experience with programing courses or projects (VBA, Python, etc.) preferred
o Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
o Result oriented with strong sense of ownership and responsibility
