Position Summary & Responsibilities:
This Co-op is anticipated to run from middle of May - December 2025 working an average of 40 hours a week. This role is based in Durham, NC with a five day per week onsite requirement. Relocation Assistance is not available for this position. bioMérieux is seeking an Intern/Co-op to join the Durham Site Automation Engineering team to assist with the development and implementation of engineering solutions in a manufacturing environment. This will be a great opportunity to gain real world experience while working in a fast paced, regulated Medical Instruments industry. The Automation Engineering team is responsible for the installation, maintenance, programming, and improvement of the Automated and Computerized equipment used in the Manufacturing and Packaging of the BacT/Alert line of products.Assist with the development and implementation of engineering solutions to improve bioMérieux manufacturing systems.Conduct engineering studies and perform manufacturing data mining and analysis.Write Excel Macros using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), and develop software applications using C#, VB.net, or Python.Other assignments as directed by management.Education, Skills, & Experience:
High School Diploma/GED is required and must be actively enrolled in an academic program/institution pursuing a degree.Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, or Computer Science majors are desiredExperience with PLC programming, C, C++, Python, SQL, or advanced level Excel is desiredPrevious work experience is preferred, ideally in a Manufacturing or Warehouse setting#biojobsBioFire Diagnostics, LLC. is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
