An engineering internship opportunity for the Spring of 2025 is available on the AES Ohio Applications Development team.
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in a degree program related to Computer Science, Information Technology, GIS, or a related field.
Experience with GIS software and tools, such as ArcGIS or QGIS.
Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries.
Strong customer service skills and the ability to troubleshoot user issues.
Knowledge of Google Cloud Technologies or similar cloud-based platforms.
Familiarity with Python or other programming languages is a plus.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
Eagerness to learn and contribute to a team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
An academic standing of Junior or higher is preferred.
Assist in the development and maintenance of GIS applications and databases.
Write and optimize SQL queries for database management and data analysis.
Provide customer service support for internal and external application users.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop solutions that meet business needs.
Participate in the full lifecycle of application development, from concept to deployment.
Support existing utilities applications and contribute to new development projects.
Engage in continuous learning to stay updated on the latest industry trends and technologies.
