We perform geotechnical studies to solve pressing infrastructure and construction rehabilitation issues. Sometimes, we break new ground with our ideas. **Your Opportunity**
Stantec provides an exceptional opportunity to learn through practical experience, expert supervision and on-the-job training. Based out of our Burnaby, BC location, we are looking for Civil or Geological Engineering students or recent graduates in the field of Geotechnical Engineering for an 8-month period from May to December 2025.
**Your Key Responsibilities**
Students will be introduced to a wide variety of geotechnical consulting activities, including:
+ Field Work: geotechnical and/or materials testing fieldwork including but not limited to; compaction monitoring, vibration monitoring and construction quality control / quality assurance.
+ Laboratory Testing: conduct geotechnical laboratory testing and soil classification to characterize soil samples collected from geotechnical site explorations.
+ Project Coordination: in conjunction with Stantec field staff, office staff, the client and other parties such as regulators and suppliers.
+ Data Management: collection compilation and database applications of field and laboratory data analysis: desktop, computer and project team analysis of information to identify and define solutions.
+ Reporting: preparation of reports detailing the work carried out, results, conclusions and recommendations.
+ Obtain practical experience in applying technical procedures and practices
+ Learn about prescribed testing and data analysis methods.
+ Experience using various software programs and applications.
+ Develop and enhance interpersonal skills needed to succeed in a professional career.
+ Gain experience dealing with day-to-day responsibilities in a challenging work environment.
**Qualifications**
**Your Capabilities and Credentials**
+ Must have valid driver's license and vehicle available to complete field reviews.
+ Applicants should be energetic team players with appropriate academic qualifications.
**Education and Experience**
+ Experience is preferred however undergraduates with at least one year in a Civil Engineering Degree/Diploma program are encouraged to apply.
+ Applicants must be registered in an accredited, post-secondary institute
Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Some time will be spent in a typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Ability to lift and move items and equipment up to 50 lbs.

**Salary Range(s):**
* Lower Mainland $22.74 - Lower Mainland $29.17 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in BC (Lower Mainland includes Vancouver & Burnaby)
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
