We are looking for motivated and dependable Caseworkers to provide Mental Health Co-Responder services while embedded in a local police department. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a County Case Worker 3, Co-Responder you will receive direct supervision from the County Base Service Unit (BSU) Director and report to both the BSU Director and the Chief of the local police department or their designee. A Co-Responder in this position is expected to have the ability to function independently and decisively as well as maintain confidentiality in high pressure situations. An individual in this position will respond with police officers where a social services response is more appropriate than a law enforcement response. In order to be successful in this position, you will be expected to have: + A knowledge of both normal and abnormal human behavior + Development, diagnostic, and assessment skills + The ability to effectively interact with individuals receiving or in need of services, their families, and other professionals in the community + A knowledge of the criminal justice system + Oral and written communication skills including clinical terminology + The ability to exercise good judgment in the performance of all duties. On day one of employment, CMSU’s employees begin earning paid vacation and sick time. In addition to vacation and sick time, CMSU provides four (4) personal days per year and 15 paid holidays. CMSU also provides health, dental, and vision insurance to its staff. Tuition reimbursement for graduate and undergraduate courses both in-person or on-line is also available. CMSU staff also qualify for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF).
