Foth is seeking a Coastal Engineer to join our Jacksonville, FL office! This role involves engaging in field data collection and performing industry-standard coastal engineering analyses. You’ll work on a wide variety of exciting and innovative projects, learning from our experienced Jacksonville team members, and advancing your coastal engineering career with us!Responsibilities: Assist with the setup, calibration, and verification of numerical models for wave transformation, hydrodynamics, sediment transport, and coastal morphologyCommunicate complex topics to non-technical stakeholders effectivelyEngage in field data collection practices, including waves, water levels, and basic surveyingPerform and oversee industry-standard analyses related to coastal engineeringCollaborate both independently and within a multidisciplinary team, including coastal engineers, surveyors, biologists, structural engineers, master planners, etc.Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Ocean, Coastal, Environmental, or Civil Engineering, or a related field from an EAC/ABET accredited programPreferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Ocean, Coastal, Environmental, or Civil Engineering, or a related field from an EAC/ABET accredited programExperience using coastal modeling platforms such as Delft3D, Mike/DHI, SMS, ADCIRC, XBeach, UNIBEST, etc.Construction oversight experienceExperience in designing coastal resiliency and adaptation projectsTechnical report writing experienceExperience using programming languages such as Matlab, Python, etc.Experience in the design and permitting of beach renourishment projects and coastal structuresWhy Foth: Established Reputation: With over 86 years of experience, we are proud to be 100% member-owned.Dynamic Culture: Benefit from a values-based, client-centered, and flexible work environment, with ample professional growth opportunities and supportive colleagues, contributing to our impressive 92+% member retention rate.Challenging Projects: Engage in diverse and exciting projects that promote continuous professional growth and development.
