Operate various thin film coating chambers and measuring equipment.  Perform final preparation, loading & inspection of complicated optical elements. 

Tasks

Operate various types of thin film coating chambersPerform final preparation, loading and inspection of complicated optical elements Perform complicated maintenance, repair & troubleshooting of equipment Support the design of new tooling and fixtures for elements, chambers, and equipment Support the development of new manufacturing processes and make improvements to current manufacturing processes

Skills Required

Understanding of principles of physics and chemistryUnderstanding of principles of vacuum chambersUnderstanding of principles of optical thin filmsAbility to work independently and with minimum supervisionAbility to safely handle delicate optical partsAbility to work well with othersAbility to comprehend and follow detailed instructionsAbility to read detailed drawingsAbility to effectively operate complicated equipment such as coating chambers and associated equipment, spectrophotometers

Experience & Education Requirements

Diploma in Photonics or Physical SciencesExperience in the field of thin film coatings, particularly in optical coatings
