Coatings Supervisor

TrinityRail is searching for a talented leader to fill the open position of Coatings Supervisor in our Fort Worth, Texas plant! 

The Railcar Coatings Supervisor oversees the exterior and interior paint teams, as well as the product surface teams throughout day-to-day operations as well as contributes to the long-term operational plan, including (but not limited to) training and onboarding the new employees, scheduling and assigning work duties, overcoming operational obstacles, and managing production and employee performance to ensure that the plant’s safety, quality, and production goals are achieved.

Exhibit Trinity Core Values Maintain staff by orienting and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities Considerable knowledge of the application processes of coating materials Accomplish team results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; conducting training; implementing & enforcing systems, policies, and procedures Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing organization standards; adhering to legal regulations Complete operations by developing schedules; assigning and monitoring work that includes interaction with other departments in the paint buildings; gathering resources; implementing productivity standards; resolving operations problems; maintaining reference manuals; implementing new procedures Adhere to customer coating expectations Adhere to all quality standards regarding product surface preparation, coating preparation, exterior and internal coatings, and stenciling Control expenses by ordering inventory based on customer needs, practices inventory control by prioritizing current supplies to meet customer needs, participates in submitting cost savings ideas, budget information; monitors expenditures; monitoring variances; implementing corrective actions Provide quality service by enforcing quality, customer service standards, participates in submitting quality improvements Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing procedures, specifications, MI’s and Field manuals Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed Be present and available for work Additional duties as assigned

What You'll Need:

Minimum of 3 years' experience working as a lead or supervisory position in a manufacturing environment Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering or similar field desired, but not required, or equivalent combination of education and experience Ability to effectively plan work procedures, equipment, material, and manpower needs Ability to effectively communicate/interface at all levels, verbal and written Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
