The ideal candidate will have expertise in COBOL, Endevor, DB2, CICS, Assembler, and VSAM in a mainframe environment. Experience with check processing systems is a significant plus. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a high-impact, fast-paced environment within a leading financial institution. **Key Responsibilities:** + Design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe-based applications with a focus on COBOL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system functionality and resolve issues. + Maintain and enhance legacy systems using mainframe technologies such as COBOL, Assembler, and VSAM. + Leverage Endevor for version control and deployment management. + Ensure the effective integration of mainframe applications with other platforms and systems. + Optimize and troubleshoot performance issues within the mainframe environment. + Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards. + Troubleshoot and resolve complex application issues, ensuring minimal downtime and disruptions. + Document technical specifications, design documents, and operational procedures. **Required Skills & Experience:** + Extensive experience in COBOL, CICS, DB2, Endevor, VSAM, Assembler, and related technologies. + Strong understanding of mainframe development processes, debugging, and performance tuning. + Experience in systems analysis, coding, testing, and debugging mainframe applications. + Familiarity with mainframe job scheduling and environment management. + Proficiency in working with large-scale databases and performing data manipulation and queries using DB2. + Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced team environment. + Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. **Preferred Skills:** + Experience with check processing systems or banking/payment systems. + Knowledge of additional mainframe tools or programming languages. + Understanding of Agile development methodologies or experience working in Agile teams. **Contract Details:** + **Duration:** 12 Months (with the potential for extension). + **Location:** Remote during contract.
