Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Receives complaints regarding violations of City/County ordinances and regulations; researches City/County codes for appropriate sections.Conducts field investigations regarding possible violations of a variety of City/County codes and ordinances, and related state codes including zoning, nuisance, property maintenance, housing, transportation, and animal and business license/permits, health and sanitation.Explains and interprets City/Council ordinances to violators; sets deadlines for compliance and follow-up. Writes notices of violation and directives outlining and describing areas to be brought into compliance.May issue, when required, notices to appear, administrative/civil citations and inspection warrants to violators who fail to comply within specified time limits.Maintains daily inspection logs, records, and files.Takes photographs of violations and prepares comprehensive written reports. Works with various City/County divisions, departments and other agencies such as Animal Control and Health Department.Available Schedules

Job Requirements / Qualifications
