J.P. Morgan’s Code for Good Hackathon

Join J.P. Morgan's Code for Good Hackathon and use your coding skills to benefit nonprofit organisations. In this 24-hour event, you'll collaborate with a team and JPMorgan experts to develop a tech solution for a local nonprofit. This is a unique chance to network with aspiring software engineers, meet our recruiters, and experience life as a JPMorgan software engineer. Top performers may be considered for a Software Engineer Internship. The event will be held at our Glasgow office from 4th to 5th October 2024.

 

Event Summary:

As a participant in the Code for Good Hackathon at J.P. Morgan, you will have the opportunity to use your coding skills to make a real difference for nonprofit organisations. Over the course of 24 hours, you and your team will develop a technology solution for a local nonprofit, working alongside our expert technologists. This is a chance to learn, network, and potentially secure an internship as a Software Engineer at JPMorgan

 

Job Responsibilities:

Create innovative solutions that make a difference for a local nonprofit.  Work on agile teams with peers and experienced technologists. 

 

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills: 

Pursuing a B.A., B.S. with expected graduation of by Dec 2026 Foundational knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, Javascript, Java, C++, C#), databases, data structures and algorithms Exceptional analytical and problem-solving ability Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Computer Science, Software Engineering or STEM degrees are preferred

Selected applicants will be asked to complete a coding challenge, powered by HackerRank. This is your opportunity to further bring your resume to life and showcase your experience. Completing HackerRank is required, and your application will not be considered for further review until you have completed this.

We strongly encourage that you apply and complete these required elements as soon as possible, since programs will close as positions are filled.

Selected applicants will be notified via email with final event details for the event.

Applications are open to all and we particularly welcome interest from groups which are under-represented in the technology workplace.

Participants will need to bring their own laptops to the event that will take place at JP Morgan office. Travel expenses will be covered by JPMorgan, though conditions will apply.
